Principal's Bio

I am a native of Chambers County, Al and a product of the Chambers County School System. I initiated my educational journey at Drew Jr. High School and later enrolled in Shawmut Elementary School. My Junior High years were spent at Valley Jr. High and in 1976, I graduated from Valley High School in Valley, Al. I am married to the former Janice Barber and the father of two daughters and three sons (one deceased). I have six grandchildren.

Educational Achievements:

·        Associate of Science Degree in Elementary Education from Southern Union Junior College in 1978

·        B.S. in Elementary Education from Auburn University, 1980

·        M.S in Elementary Education from Troy University, 1984

·        Certification in Educational Leadership from Troy University, 1988

Work Experience:

·        1981-1993            Bob Harding-Shawmut Elementary School

·        1993-1994            Southside Middle School

·        1994-Present        J.T. Greene Middle School and W.O. Lance Elementary School

·        2010-Present        Davis Memorial Mortuary Valley, Al

Religious and Community Involvement:

·        Member of Mt. Hermon Baptist Church

·        Secretary for the Bowen East District Association

·        Lanett Housing Authority Grievance Board

·        Lanett City Council- presently serving 3^rd term

·        Lanett United Community Federation Club (former member)

·        Past board member of Valley Haven School

·        Past board member of Lanett Boy’s and Girl’s Club

·        Past board member of Huguley Water System

·        Past member of West Shawmut Masonic Lodge

During my tenure as principal, here at W.O. Lance, several programs have been implemented. These programs include:
